Victoria Doutón is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Montevideo, Uruguay.
She studied classical flute at the National Conservatory of Music in Montevideo.
She spent time in various South America countries including Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Brazil.
After a few years in Rio de Janeiro she moved to the USA. She lived in Austin for a little while since she started collaborating with world-renown international musicians. And after a few months she made her way to New Orleans to be fully immersed in the rich musical culture that is the foundation of American music.
She's been in New Orleans for five years and currently recording her first album. While living in New Orleans Ms Douton has led her own band, and we welcome her as an essential member of Cuba Heat.
Her travels inspired her to write music inspired by Afro South American Rhythms & Contemporary Jazz. Her music passionately combines the various cultures and places she's experienced in her 10+ years of traveling.
